Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd has posted a healthy performance during the first quarter (April to June) of FY22.
In an investor presentation filed on stock exchanges, Gujarat-based Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd [TRIL] said that its revenue from operations during Q1 of FY22, at Rs.216.99 crore, was 89 per cent higher than the comparable Rs.114.76 crore in the same period of FY21.
The company’s performance on the exports front witnessed remarkable improvement. In Q1 of FY22, TRIL’s export revenue was Rs.49 crore, as opposed to just Rs.3 crore in Q1 of FY21.
Exports accounted for 23 per cent of the total revenue in the first quarter of FY22, as against 3 per cent in the comparable quarter of FY21.
Utilities (including Railways) maintained a share of 52 per cent. The industrial sector (including renewables) accounted for 25 per cent of the total revenue in Q1 of FY22, as against a much higher 45 per cent in Q1 of FY21. The revenue from the industrial sector, however, was at around Rs.52 crore in both the quarters.
TRIL recorded sales of 1,910 MVA from transformers up to 220kV in Q1 of FY22. This was a vast improvement over the corresponding 1,002 MVA in Q1 of FY21. Sales of transformers above 220kV, however, fell from 2,620 MVA in Q1 of FY21 to 2,000 MVA in Q1 of FY22.
The outstanding order book of TRIL stood at Rs.1,005 crore, as of July 31, 2021. Besides, the company has participated in the bidding process of Central and state power utilities, to the tune of Rs.700 crore.
On July 28, 2021, Transformers & Rectifiers (India) announced that Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) upgraded the company to “Grade A” for quality inspection based on equipment performance. “This will boost long-term business relationship with Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for supply of transformers,” the company said.
Besides, in a stock exchange filing of July 8, 2021, TRIL said that the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) had revised the company’s status to “Two-Star Export House” from the earlier “One-Star Export House”. TRIL said that this new status reflects the company’s consistent efforts to supply quality goods and services to various countries.
