Advait Infratech Ltd has been awarded a pilot green hydrogen project by THDC India, a Central power sector PSU.
This pilot project is aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of using hydrogen as a medium for storing renewable electricity.
According to a company release, Advait Infratech will set up a 300KW electrolyzer and a 70KW fuel cell, which will generate 70KW of electricity for continuous 12 hours. This electricity will be used for the illumination purpose of THDC India’s premises and to supply electricity to their residential apartments. The project will store excess electricity generated from the solar panels on-site in the form of hydrogen, which can be used later when the demand for electricity exceeds the supply.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and will be a major milestone in India’s journey toward a sustainable and low-carbon future, the release added.
