Delton Cables Ltd has recently begun commercial operations at its new EPC cable plant in Haryana.
In a release, Delton Cables said that commercial production at its EPC cable plant in Paliwal district of Haryana started on October 26, 2024. The plant has been set up on an industrial property measuring around 8,650 sqm, the company said.
In a related development, the board of directors of Delton Cables Ltd has approved the setting up of a new plant for telecom cables. To be set up with an investment of Rs.10 crore, this new capacity is likely to be commissioned by March 2025.
In an investor presentation, Delton Cables said that in the EPC cables segment, the company was looking at new areas like nuclear energy, defence, water and smart metering. It was also focusing on a pan-India presence and was accordingly expanding in untapped areas.
In H1 (April to September) of FY25, EPC cables accounted for a 40 per cent share in revenue, maintaining the level seen in the full year FY24. Incidentally, the company derives its highest revenues from railway cables – 45 per cent share in H1FY25.
Meanwhile, the company’s outstanding order book, as of September 30, 2024, stood at Rs.275 crore. Order inflows in H1FY25 were bolstered by major orders worth Rs.177 crore received in Q1 (April to June) of FY25.
Delton Cables has estimated that share of branded cables in the overall Indian market would reach 80 per cent by FY27, progressively moving up from 70 per cent in FY22 and 61 per cent in FY14.
As the company has been a well-known brand for over 75 years, this would help it capture the market share of unbranded players, the investor presentation said.
Commenting on the company’s Q2FY25 and H1FY25 results, Vivek Gupta, Managing Director, Delton Cables, said, “Delton has posted yet another superlative financial performance for Q2 and first half of the current financial year. Sustained demands for Delton’s customised products for specific applications, coupled with our internal financial and operational efficiency improvements have led us to register high revenue and profit growth. I am very proud of our entire team at Delton who has been putting relentless efforts in bringing improvements across the board, while at the same time meeting the growing industry demands. Delton is mid-way in its transformational journey, and the management feel encouraged to expand further. The board has approved setting up of an additional manufacturing capacity to meet the growing demands from the telecom sector, the sector where we have a stronghold since Delton’s inception. We look forward to exciting times ahead.”
