IntelliSeal has announced the launch of its intelligent innovation, the iPROTECT meter security seal.
Presented by Howrah-based IntelliSeal LLP, this cutting-edge security solution is designed to provide the highest level of protection for electric and utility meters. The iPROTECT seal offers unmatched security features and seamless integration with existing systems of utilities, a release from IntelliSeal said.
Smartest protection
The iPROTECT meter security seal is specifically engineered for single-use applications, ensuring that it cannot be accidentally opened. The seal must be removed using a cutting plier, providing exceptionally high level of security.
Each seal features a transparent coloured housing body and high-contrast opaque locking insert, along with a laser-engraved security code (utility ID) and non-repeat sequential serial numbering with a 2D data matrix barcode, making each seal unique.
Advanced design and material
The iPROTECT seal is constructed from high-strength polycarbonate and twisted stainless steel wire, offering robust protection for utility meters. The seal is applied by threading the supplied sealing wire through the two holes in the iPROTECT capsule housing body and pressing the push-fit locking insert by hand, without the need for any tools. The locked seal has multi-level locking protection, making it impossible to open without clear evidence of tampering. Once locked, it is impossible to open the seal without breaking.
The see-through transparent coloured housing body allows for easy visual inspection and confirmation of seal integrity.

- Easy finger closure: Simply insert the wire end through two holes via the equipment recess and apply thumb pressure to lock it permanently. No tools are required for locking

- The seal’s hardness prevents illicit manipulation, especially when tampering is attempted by use of boiling water to soften the locking mechanism

The iPROTECT polycarbonate meter seal is supplied with the capsule housing body and locking insert pre-locked (two stages), ensuring no scope for pre-tampering of locking arms before installation. Two stages of locking arms are locked during the sealing of the meter.
