Central power PSUs have announced major investment proposals in Chhattisgarh.
While NTPC has outlined investment of Rs.96,000 crore, SJVN has proposed to invest Rs.9,500 crore. Both the entities have signed MoUs with Chhattisgarh state government entities for building non-fossil based power generation capacities.
NTPC signed the following three agreements:
SJVN has signed an MoU with the Government of Chhattisgarh and CSPGCL for the development of 1,800 MW Pumped Storage Project (PSP) at Kotpali in Chhattisgarh. Total investment for the project is estimated at Rs.9500 crore, with direct and indirect employment benefits expected for 5,000 people during its development phase. The Kotpali PSP is a off-stream closed-loop type PSP in Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh with an installed capacity of 1,800 MW designed to generate energy around 3,967 MU.
All the aforementioned agreements were signed at the “Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit-2025” recently held at capital city Raipur.
