Waaree Energies has landed an EPC contract to build a 60-mw ground-mounted solar project in Vietnam. With this, Waaree has marked its entry not only in Vietnam but also in South East Asia, the company said in a press statement.
The project, in association with a leading utility scale provider, will be a substantial step towards achieving the 12 GW of solar photovoltaic target set by the Government of Vietnam. With the turnkey engineering, procurement and construction contract, along with operations and maintenance, the project also marks Waaree Energies’ expansion to South East Asia. Waaree Energies will be using its high efficiency mono-crystalline panels for this project. The company has setup an international project office in Vietnam, and the work for project is in full swing.
Being developed in Khanh Hoa province of the country, the project has been approved by EVN (Vietnam Electricity) for 60 mw AC. The project is expected to generate 10,6000 MWh per year, once commissioned. The power generated will be used for feed-in tariff, which will further aid in adoption of solar energy in the country, the release said.
Waaree already has a pipeline of 100 mw worth of international orders, to be executed in next six months, apart from 250 mw worth of domestic orders.
