Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML), the Mumbai power distribution utility of Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL), maintained reliability of supply in the first quarter (April to June) of FY23.
In a release, ATL said that supply reliability was 99.99 per cent in Q1 of FY23, maintaining its level of the same period of FY22.
Distribution loss was 6.95 per cent in Q1 of FY23, slightly higher than 6.88 per cent in Q1 of FY22, but way better the national average.
In the first quarter of FY23, AEML sold 26 per cent higher electricity than in the previous year. This reflected revival in demand by commercial and industrial consumers. In Q1 of FY23, AEML sold 2,560 MU (million units or million kwh) of electricity as against 2,036 MU in the like quarter of FY22.
Distribution losses remain low on account of high collection efficiency and loss reduction measures, the ATL release observed.
ATL also said that AEML has been continuing consumer-centric initiatives and that digital payments accounted for 74.7 per cent of the total collection in the first quarter of FY23.
Transmission business
During Q1 of FY23, ATL added 372 ckm of transmission lines to its network, taking its total operational portfolio to 18,795 ckm. (Read full story)
