Adani Energy wins Pune-III Transmission, its fourth ISTS-TBCB project this fiscal

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has formally been awarded an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme housed under “Pune-III Transmission Ltd” under the TBCB route, making it the company’s third such win so far in this fiscal year.

In a stock exchange filing, AESL said that Pune-III Transmission Ltd was acquired from bid process coordinator PFC Consulting Ltd on November 19, 2024.

AESL won this project under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route, getting the better of two other contenders Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) and Sterlite Power.

The ISTS scheme is officially termed as “Transmission system for evacuation of power from potential RE zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase IV (7 GW), Part D.” Estimated to cost Rs.3,455 crore (as per National Committee on Transmission), the scheme is scheduled for completion in 24 months.

Taking shape in Maharashtra, Pune-III Transmission involves, among other elements, setting up of a new 2×1500 MVA, 765/400kV and 3×500 MVA, 400/220kV Pune-III GIS substation near Pune, and a 765kV double-circuit line connecting this substation to the Boisar-II substation. The total transmission line network envisaged under this project is an estimated 816 ckm.

 

Fourth win of FY25

For Adani Energy Solutions Ltd, this is the fourth ISTS-TBCB win in FY25 so far. The three earlier wins are:
