Adani Group has planned to enter the wind turbine generator (WTG) manufacturing business, indicating backward integration in the wind energy space.
In a stock exchange filing, group company Adani Enterprises Ltd said that it has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, Mundra Windtech Ltd (MWL), on June 7, 2021.
MWL will carry on business as manufacturers of wind turbine generators and other auxiliaries.
Mundra Windtech Ltd has been incorporated in India and registered with Registrar of Companies, Gujarat, at Ahmedabad on June 7, 2021, and is yet to commence business operations, Adani Enterprises said in the filing.
Adani Group, through Adani Green Energy Ltd and its subsidiaries, currently has an operational wind power generation capacity of 647 mw, apart from several projects under development. For Adani Group, Mundra Windtech Ltd represents backward integration in the wind energy space. The Adani Group, it may be achieved, has already achieved such backward integration in the solar energy space.
