Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL) added 3,080 ckm of transmission lines to its portfolio during the first nine months (April to December) of FY22.
In a statement announcing its financial results for the third quarter (Q3: October to December) of FY22, ATL said that out of the 3,080 ckm added during the said period. 411 ckm came in Q3 of FY22 while the remaining were added in the first half (H: April to September) of FY22.
With this addition, the total transmission network of ATL, as of December 31, 2021, stood at 18,567 ckm.
This addition of 3,080 ckm came from the commissioning of TBCB projects like Ghatampur, Bikaner-Khetri and Fategarh-Bhadla. (See related story)
It may be mentioned that during the first nine months of FY22, ATL also received the rights to develop two intrastate transmission schemes.
The transmission business of ATL recorded 99.6 per cent availability during the first nine months of FY22, as against 99.8 per cent in the same period of FY21.
Distribution business
In the power distribution business, ATL sold 6088 MUs of electricity in the April-December period of FY22, up 14 per cent from 5343 MU sold in the corresponding period of FY21. ATL noted that this growth in electricity sold reflected growth in demand from the industrial and commercial segment.
ATL also witnessed a significant drop in overall distribution losses which fell to 7.01 per cent in April-December period of FY22 from 7.90 per cent in the like period of FY21. In fact, such losses in Q3 of FY22 were just 6.53 per cent.
In another important development in FY22, ATL completed acquisition of MPSEZ Utilities Ltd (MUL) facilitating distribution of electricity in Mundra SEZ area (8,481 ha) as a distribution licensee. (Read more)
