Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL) has incorporated two new subsidiaries for undertaking power distribution business.
In recent stock exchange filings, ATL said that two new wholly-owned subsidiaries were incorporated in order to apply for parallel distribution licences.
The two subsidiaries are:
Both these entities are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Adani Transmission Ltd and have been incorporated in mid-March 2023.
These two entities will, respectively, apply for parallel distribution licences in the Aurangabad and Nashik areas in Maharashtra, currently served by state utility Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL).

With respect to the power distribution business, it may be recalled that Adani Transmission Ltd, in late November 2022, also incorporated a similar wholly-owned subsidiary “Adani Electricity Navi Mumbai Ltd”. This new entity has sought a parallel distribution licence in additional areas in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region covering Mulund, Bhandup, Navi Mumbai, Panvel, and Khargar — all of which are currently serviced by MSEDCL.
