Apar Industries has reported a 27 per cent year-on-year growth in order inflow with respect to its conductor business during the first three quarters of FY23.
In an investor presentation filed on stock exchanges, Apar Industries said that new order inflow in its conductor business was Rs.5,478 crore during the first three quarter (April to December) of FY23. This was 27 per cent higher than the comparable level in FY22.
Of this order inflow, Rs.1,993 crore was realized in the third quarter (October to December) of FY23.
The outstanding order book with respect to conductors stood at Rs.4,885 crore as of December 31, 2022. Of this order book, 44 per cent came from “premium” products.
Premium products represent special conductors and include high-efficiency conductors (HEC), copper conductors and optical ground wire (OPGW). Also included are ACCC (aluminium conductor composite core) conductors that are produced in collaboration with US-based CTC Global.
The investor presentation also observed that exports of conductors during the first three quarters of FY23 grew three times when compared with FY22. Exports contributed to 48 per cent of the total revenue of the conductor business in the April-December period of FY23.
The conductor division is very significant with respect to the overall operations of Apar Industries Ltd. In FY22, conductors contributed to 42.8 per cent of the company’s total revenues. This was followed by transformer and specialty oil business with a share of 36.3 per cent and then by the power and telecom cables division with 20.3 per cent.

Beginning operations in 1958, Apar Industries is believed to be the largest conductor manufacturer in India, and the domestic pioneer of aluminium alloy rod and conductors. Being one of the earliest Indian manufacturers to successfully test 765kV and 800kV conductors, Apar Industries currently supplies to all the top 25 global turnkey operators, the presentation observed.
