The combined order book of the cable and conductor business of Apar Industries Ltd crossed Rs.8,300 crore, as of March 31, 2024.
According to a company investor presentation, the said order book stood at Rs.8,321 crore, with conductors accounting for Rs.6,885 crore and cables, Rs.1,436 crore.
Here are some operational highlights of Apar’s cable & conductor business during the year ending March 31, 2024 (FY24)
Conductors
- The new order inflow during FY24 stood at Rs.9,372 crore, up 20.4 per cent over that in FY23.
- Premium products accounted for 47.5 per cent of the FY24 order inflow. [Premium products refer to high-efficiency conductors (HEC), copper conductor, OPGW, and ACCC conductor made in collaboration with CTC Global.]
- Of the outstanding order book of Rs.6,885 crore, premium products had a share of 44.8 per cent. Exports (including premium products) accounted for 37 per cent of the order book.
- Revenue from the conductor business in FY24 was up 15 per cent year-on-year. The share of exports was 44.9 per cent in FY24 as against 46.5 per cent in FY23.
Cables
- Revenue from the domestic market was up 45 per cent year-on-year, on the back of higher demand for elastomeric cables finding application in renewables, railways, telecom, etc.
- Exports made a lower contribution in the company’s revenue from the cables business – 38.3 per cent in FY24 as against 50.8 per cent in FY23 – on account of lower demand from US and Europe.
