Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has commissioned the nation’s first digital substation with indigenously designed 420kV fibre optical current transformers (FOCTs) and IEC61850 compliant intelligent electronic devices (IEDs).
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), BHEL said, “This milestone showcases our commitment to innovation and self-reliance in the transmission sector.”
The company’s ultra high voltage laboratory is one of the largest screened testing facilities in the world for transformers. This state-of-the-art facility enables us to test and validate our cutting-edge transmission products, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability.
