Bid process coordinator PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) has extended the last date for submission of bids for an interstate scheme in Rajasthan, involving capacity augmentation to three pooling stations.
As per the latest notification, the submission date now stands at December 24, 2024, revised from the earlier December 16, 2024. This is the fourth time that the bid submission date has been extended, starting from the original December 3, 2024.
Taking shape in Rajasthan, the ISTS scheme is officially referred to as “Augmentation at Fatehgarh-II PS, Fatehgarh-IV PS (Section-II) and Barmer-I PS.”
Incidentally, PFCCL very recently incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary “Fatehgarh II and Barmer I PS Transmission Ltd” that will act as the project special purpose vehicle.
This ISTS-TBCB scheme, estimated to cost around Rs.404 crore (as per National Committee on Transmission, NCT) seeks to augment transformation capacity at the upcoming pooling stations – Fatehgarh-II, Fatehgarh-IV (Section II) and Barmer-I — all in Rajasthan.
In all, one 1500 MVA, 765/400kV interconnecting transformer (ICT) and five 500 MVA, 400/220kV ICTs will be put up, across the three pooling stations. The project also involves putting up the required number of 765kV, 400kV and 220kV ICT bays.
The 1500 MVA, 765/400kV ICT that will be the 7th ICT at the Fatehgarh-II PS is expected to commission in 21 months of SPV transfer. The remaining ICTs will need to come up in a timeframe that matches the commissioning of an overarching scheme known as “Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Phase IV (Part 2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer).”
This overarching scheme is being developed under several independent components, including seven in TBCB mode, with a concurrent commissioning date of August 2026. According to information available with T&D India, PGCIL has won six TBCB components, and Apraava Energy, one.
