Bid process coordinator PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) has extended the bid submission date for an ISTS-TBCB scheme related to the Anantapur-II renewable energy zone in Andhra Pradesh.
The submission date for both technical and financial bids now stands at January 14, 2025 with PFCCL scheduled to open the technical bids on the same date.
Termed as “Transmission system for integration of Anantapur-II REZ – Phase I (for 4.5 GW),” this is a major ISTS-TBCB scheme with an envisaged cost of Rs.4,679 crore and an implementation timeframe of 24 months. The project straddles Andhra Pradesh and the neighbouring state of Karnataka.
Meanwhile, PFCCL recently incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary “Anantapur II REZ Transmission Ltd” that will act as a project special purpose vehicle (SPV). This entity will be transferred to the winning developer, selected under the TBCB modality.
Objective
This scheme seeks to meet connectivity applications at the Anantapur-II renewable energy zone (REZ) in Andhra Pradesh. So far applications have been received for 3.5 GW, including 2.5 GW at 220kV level and 1 GW at the 400kV level.
Project details
The project entails creation of the Anantapur-II pooling station near Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. This PS will have capacity of 4×1500 MVA, 765/400kV and 6×500 MVA, 400/220kV. This pooling station will be connected to the Davangere PS and Cuddapah substation through 765kV double-circuit lines together running over 350 km.
While the Cuddapah substation in Andhra Pradesh is owned by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), the Davangere PS is coming up in Karnataka through a separate ISTS-TBCB scheme housed under “Chitradurga Bellary REZ Transmission Ltd” and which is currently under bidding. Incidentally, PFCCL is the BPC for the Chitradurga-Bellary scheme also, and by latest timelines, technical bids are scheduled to be opened on January 13, 2025.
