BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd, in a release, said that it has completed the electrification of the Nimitita—New Farakka section in West Bengal.
BCPL has successfully conducted a trial run at 100 kmph on the newly electrified Nimtita – New Farakka section in West Bengal, which has concluded 100 per cent electrification of the Eastern Railway. The project marks one of the major milestones in the Eastern Railway history – as it completes 100 per cent electrification, the release said.
BCPL has successfully completed the work of design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 25kV, 50 Hz, single phase, AC electrification works including overhead electrification and traction substation as composite electrical work in Azimgunj (ncluding) – Nalhati (excluding) and Azimganj – New Farakka / Toldanga (excluding) section, Group – 188A & 189 including Sagardighi thermal power station and Sonar Bangla cement siding in Azimgunj-New Farakka Section of Howrah and Malda Division of Eastern Railway under RE Danapur.
The total distance of the project was 79 route km or 152 track km. The total value of the project was around Rs.31.4 crore.
Commenting on the same, Aparesh Nandi, Chairman said, “We at BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd are quite pleased to inform our stakeholders on our recent achievement in making 100 per cent electrified railway in Nimtita – New Farakka section of West Bengal. This is very proud moment for all of us as we were instrumental in achieving a major milestone in the Eastern Railway history. Our constant efforts in reducing the carbon footprints and making pollution free India led to this success. We are quite optimistic about the future prospects of our company as the Government in the recent Budget has announced efforts to achieve 100 per cent electrification of broad gauge routes by December 2023. We possess robust orders of around Rs.2 billion on hand and we are quite optimistic about timely execution of orders.”
The project has received significant credit and appreciation from the government authorities on social media through many well recognized handles, the BCPL release said.
