India can deliver 24 million smart meters: IEEMA

EESL completes installation of 5 lakh smart meters

Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) has announced the successful installation of over 5,00,000 smart meters in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, under the Government of India’s Smart Meter National Programme (SMNP) that envisages replacement of 25 crore conventional meters with smart counterparts, pan India.
Early CERC nod proposed for RE transmission schemes

To fast track the deployment of renewable energy in India, Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy (IC) R.K. Singh has approved a proposal for early regulatory approval by Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) for transmission schemes identified for 66.5 GW worth of projects under the National Renewable Energy Mission.
CEA prepares its first-ever plan on power distribution reforms

Kalpataru Power to divest stake in power transmission assets

Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (KPTL) announced that it has entered into binding agreements with CLP India Pvt Ltd to sell its stake in three power transmission assets, in a deal that is estimated at Rs.3,275 crore. The transaction is subject to requisite approvals and compliances.
Siemens builds Protection Automation and Control Laboratory for PGCIL

Siemens Ltd has set up the Protection Automation and Control Laboratory, an integral part of POWERGRID Advanced Research and Technology Centre (PARTeC) for Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. The laboratory, located in Manesar, Haryana, is the first of its kind in India. The project was implemented meeting critical time schedules, a statement by Siemens said.
