In the recently concluded auction for transmission projects in Brazil, Sterlite Power emerged as the winner for Lot 13.The project will require an investment of $0.6 billion over the period of next 3-5 years in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, south region of the country. The project involves six substations aggregating 1,544 MVA.
The entire shareholding of REC Transmission Projects Co Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rural Electrification Corporation) in Jawaharpur Firozabad Transmission Ltd comprising of 50,000 equity shares have been transferred along with all its assets and liabilities on December 21, 2018, to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd

KEC International has signed a share purchase agreement (SPA) with Adani Transmission Ltd for selling its entire stake in KEC Bikaner Sikar Transmission Pvt Ltd at an enterprise value of around Rs. 227.50 crore. The deal is subject to regulatory and other approvals, KEC International said in a statement. This sale is in line with KEC’s strategy to focus on its core EPC business, the company said.
The Maharashtra government is hopeful of soon appointing distribution franchisees in two circles, bidding for which is currently underway. Franchisees for the Malegaon and Mumbra-Kalwa circles will be made by end of December this year, according to Arvind Singh, Principal Secretary (Energy), Government of Maharashtra. Singh was addressing a select media gathering during the “Distribution Utility Meet 2018”, organized by Tata Power in Mumbai recently.
