ELECRAMA 2018 generates business enquiries exceeding $1 bln
The 13th edition of ELECRAMA that was held during March 10-14, 2018, at the India Expo Centre at Greater Noida, recorded footfalls of over 2.98 lakh, a release industry body and organizer IEEMA said. Over 1,200 exhibitors showcased their products and services at the biggest showcase of electrical and electronics manufacturers.

There has not only been tremendous growth in terms of number of exhibitors at ELECRAMA but there is a marked shift in the mindset of exhibitors, according to Vijay Karia, Chairman of the Organising Committee of ELECRAMA 2018, the mega power trade exhibition that will be held at Greater Noida during March 10-14, 2018. Karia was speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, aimed at highlighting key features of the event.

Sterlite Power commissions two 400kV lines in Telangana

Sterlite Power has announced the commissioning of two 400kV lines in Telangana as part of the Maheshwaram Transmission scheme in Telangana that Sterlite is developing on BOOM basis. The lines Nizamabad-Shankarapally (double-circuit) and Maheshwaram-Mahaboobnagar are expected to improve power availability in Telangana by almost 1,000 mw.
Tata Power DDL becomes first utility to map underground cables

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) has implemented GPS mapping technology to map its underground cables along with RFID (Radio-frequency Identification Detector) marker installation on cable splices for speedier fault location and resolution. Tata Power-DDL is the first utility in the country to implement the above technologies, the power utility said in a statement.
Budget maintains household electrification drive

The Budget 2018-19 presented by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley today clearly focused on the rural population and in general, the economically-challenged. In keeping with this, the capital expenditure on the national household electrification programme (Saubhagya) has been increased to Rs.3,700 crore for FY19 from Rs.2,000 crore in FY18 (Revised Estimate).
