Schneider Electric is pursuing its commitment to help reduce energy poverty and provide universal access to environmentally friendly energy, by entering into a partnership with Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), a global non-profit organization. The aim is to accelerate progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7 on energy.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd, on January 15, 2018, inaugurated its second microgrid project. Set up at Behlolpur, a riverine village in Vaishali district of Bihar, the project will provide reliable and quality power supply to about 1,200 persons residing in 220 hutments that were hitherto unelectrified.

Transrail Lighting Ltd, a turnkey solutions provider in the power T&D space, has secured new orders worth Rs.904 crore in India and abroad during the six months ending September 2017. The company’s order book as on September 30, 2017 stood at Rs.3,580 crore, Transrail said in a press release.
Adani Transmission Ltd has announced that it has signed a binding share purchase agreement with Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (RInfra) to fully acquire the latter’s integrated power business in Mumbai. The deal, valued at Rs.13,251 crore plus working capital, is subject to regulatory approvals.
