CERC grants transmission licence to three ISTS schemes

 

In recent independent orders, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has granted interstate transmission licence to three schemes.

Incidentally, all the three projects were clinched by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) under the tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism. The transmission licence will be valid for a period of 25 years, and is subject to fulfillment of statutory conditions.

Broad details of these three projects are as follows:

 

Project SPV (Original name): Raipur Pool Dhamtari Transmission Ltd

Bid process coordinator: PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL)

Successful bidder: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd

Project SPV (New name): Powergrid Raipur Pool Dhamtari Transmission Ltd

Tariff (Rs. crore per year): 29.718

Project description: Western Region Expansion Scheme- XXVII (WRES-XXVII)

Completion period: 18 months

 

 

Project SPV (Original name): Khavda RE Transmission System Ltd

Bid process coordinator: REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL)

Successful bidder: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd

Project SPV (New name): Powergrid Khavda RE Transmission System Ltd

Tariff (Rs. crore per year): 77.327

Project description: Transmission network expansion in Gujarat associated with integration of RE projects from Khavda potential RE zone

Completion period: 24 months

 

 

Project SPV (Original name): Khavda II-B Transmission Ltd

Bid process coordinator: REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL)

Successful bidder: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd

Project SPV (New name): Powergrid Khavda II-B Transmission Ltd

Tariff (Rs. crore per year): 110.368

Project description: Transmission scheme for evacuation of 4.5 GW RE injection at Khavda pooling station under Phase II – Part B

Completion period: 24 months

PGCIL most successful

As already reported by T&D India, the aforementioned three projects were among the seven ISTS projects that PGCIL won during the first four months (April to July) of FY24, under the TBCB modality.
