CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd (CG) has reported a 22 per cent quarter-on-quarter growth in order intake of its power systems division during the first quarter (April to June) of FY22.
In a release, CG said that its power systems division saw order intake of Rs.433 crore, recording a growth of 22 per cent over the comparable level in the immediately preceding quarter, Q4 (January to March) of FY21.
The outstanding order book position of this division was Rs.1,197 crore, as of June 30, 2021.
The transformer sub-segment (under the power systems business) operated at 45 per cent of its installed capacity, while the same metric for the switchgear sub-segment was 57 per cent.
Meanwhile, the industrials division posted a relatively better performance. Its order inflow in Q1 of FY22 was Rs.1,058 crore, up 30 per cent over that in Q4 of FY21.
Broadly speaking, CG’s power systems division includes transformers, reactors, switchgear (circuit breakers, instrument transformers and bushings) while the industrials division comprises motors and generators.
“During the quarter ended June 2021, operations at the plants were impacted due to lockdown and movement restrictions imposed in the wake of the COVID second wave. Capacity utilization, production and despatches were lower than normal level,” a release from CG said.
