CyanConnode Pvt Ltd, a provider of narrowband radio frequency (RF) smart mesh networks, announced that it has successfully deployed over 20 lakh (2 million) RF communication endpoints, making it the first and only smart metering communications provider in India to reach this landmark achievement.
Additionally, Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corporation Ltd (TANGEDCO) has won the prestigious SKOCH Award for Gold Category in the Power & Energy category, recognizing the success of its smart metering project powered by CyanConnode’s communication network, a release by CyanConnode said.

CyanConnode said that the deployment of over 2 million communication endpoints underscores CyanConnode India’s commitment to providing reliable and scalable smart metering solutions across the country. With successful implementations in ten states—Assam, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh—CyanConnode continues to contribute significantly to India’s energy management and digital transformation goals.
This milestone reflects the company’s extensive experience and capabilities in delivering state-of-the-art smart metering technology, the release observed.
SKOCH Award
In recognition of its efforts to transform the energy sector, TANGEDCO has been awarded the SKOCH Gold Award in the Power & Energy category. This award acknowledges the digital transformation of the discom’s commercial operations under the smart metering project, which has been powered by CyanConnode’s advanced communication network.
The project has achieved exceptional Billing and Smart Metering Communication rates of over 99 per cent, leading to accelerated invoicing, reduced errors, and improved customer satisfaction through timely billing. The implementation has also optimized operations, reduced carbon emissions, increased revenue, and streamlined manpower utilization.
