CyanConnode India has received an order to deploy communications infrastructure for nearly 10 lakh smart meters in Madhya Pradesh.
Placed by Montecarlo, the order involves 9.83 lakh Omnimesh Modules to be deployed for smart meters in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
In a release, CyanConnode said that under the purchase order, CyanConnode will supply 9.83 Lakh Omnimesh modules together with Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Standards-Based Hardware, Omnimesh Head-End Software and associated components, perpetual license, design, installation, implementation, Integration, training and support & maintenance contract with the project having a duration of ten years.
The supply and installation of Omnimesh is expected to commence in this quarter, with targeted completion within two and half years. The support and maintenance contract is for a period of seven and half years and will commence upon completion of the installation phase.
According to Ratna Garapati, Managing Director and CEO of CyanConnode India, “This is another major milestone for CyanConnode! This order is a testament of standards-based cutting-edge technology, our understanding of the Indian smart metering ecosystem and our core values of putting the customer first and be a true partner in progress. Montecarlo brings along a strong project implementation experience and we are confident that this partnership will only grow in strength. Our combined understanding and existing experience in Madhya Pradesh will be of immense value in executing this project successfully.
This contract is CyanConnode’s third project in Madhya Pradesh, following two Omnimesh deployments for Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Ltd, (MPWZ) in Indore. Indore’s smart metering project, which is already running on CyanConnode’s Omnimesh RF communication network, has become a case study that was later adopted by many other discoms across the country.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with CyanConnode. Montecarlo comes with a strong and successful project implementation background and while this is our first foray into the smart metering business, we are confident that we will make this a successful case study for other projects. CyanConnode is a service provider and has a proven track record in implementing communications infrastructure for smart metering in India and I believe that our strengths will lead to further such opportunities and partnerships,” noted Mrunal Patel, Joint MD of Montecarlo Ltd.
CyanConnode also said that supplies have already begun on its recently won major order for deploying 10 lakh Omimesh RF modules in Bihar. CyanConnode has been active in India since 2009 and executed its first smart metering project in the year 2014. CyanConnode is currently working in 10 Indian states and has an overall order book of more than 3.6 million nodes of which more than 1.1 million modules are already connected and communicating.
