Bidding has begun for three intrastate transmission system (InSTS) schemes in Maharashtra, under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) framework.
While bid process coordinators REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) has initiated the developer selection process for two schemes, PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) has done so for one scheme.
Together, these two bid process coordinators will be handling five InSTS schemes in Maharashtra where developer selection will be done under the TBCB modality.
State transmission utility Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETCL) has engaged REDPCL and PFCCL to act as bid process coordinators (BPC) for what is the state’s first attempt at adopting the TBCB philosophy for development of its intrastate grid network.
Apart from five schemes for which project SPVs have been incorporated there are at least two more schemes for which PFCCL has been recently named as the BPC. These two schemes involve, respectively, development of a 400/220kV substation at Saswad in Pune district, and development of a 400/220kV substation at Wagdari in Solapur district. PFCCL is understood to be currently in the process of appointing technical consultants for these two projects.
Here is the broad current status of the five schemes for which SPVs have been incorporated:
