We observe with interest that Harmonizer has a bouquet of manufactured products, services, and it is also engaged in providing academic/research support. With such a diverse range of offerings, please summarize what key objective is Harmonizer aspiring to attain?
The key objective of Harmonizer is bridging the gap between industry and academia domain by providing on field training, with the help of setting up labs in the college campus. As the industries are facing the challenge of core expertise in electricals, and limited facility management, Harmonizer is trying to fulfill this gap with IoT and AI technologies.
With respect to providing power solutions and services, who would your typical clients be? What is the general scope of services offered by Harmonizer?
Disruptive power quality is one of the major challenges faced by almost all industries, impacting the bottom line of the business in terms of increased down time, asset performance, hence reducing the productivity and sustainability of the business. Harmonizer is a global expert in providing solutions to enhance the Power Quality for all the industries be it hospitality, IT/ITES, buildings, shopping malls, railways, utilities etc. It provides the most reliable services in form of its world class products.
We understand that Harmonizer has an R&D setup in Bengaluru. Tell us more; also, please talk about the patents already filed by Harmonizer India.
Following are the few patents:
- ELEXE: It is an energy and asset management software with data science and AI Technology is capable of analyzing, inferring and providing solutions for problems associated with electrical network, assets, process etc.
- Canny: It is an electrical switchboard, is an intelligent device based on various sensors on board with Machine Learning algorithm deployed in server/cloud that can be visualized through the mobile app.
Coming to the academic side of your business, please describe how Harmonizer India is empowering students as well as institutes.
Harmonizer provides industry oriented trainings and internships with the help of installing Ilabs within the college campus, which enables the students to learn and innovate on cross domain technologies and gives them an on field experience as well.
Harmonizer also has tie-ups with colleges in the form of BOS members to update the curriculum of the course as per the industry requirements.
What is the overall consciousness of industrial consumers towards softer issues like power quality management?
Disruptive power quality is a global challenge with a minimal awareness within the industry arena. Significant power quality issues are witnessed by the industries due to lack of expertise and mismanagement by the local manpower. Harmonizer provides intense training/knowledge on the PQ quality and solutions which helps in enhancing knowledge of the end users. Hence, Harmonizer acts as an eye-opener for them to choose the right partner to resolve PQ Issues.
We understand that power utilities of some states are also taking a proactive stance by penalizing industrial consumers that do not maintain healthy power factor ratio. Do steps like these help service providers like Harmonizer India?
Harmonizer will be significantly benefited as it is a team of one of the few technocrats who can optimize kVAh by providing scientifically correct solution to the power factor and harmonic distortion with proper mathematical tools and expertise.
What do you feel are say the three most critical issues in the “distribution” aspect of the power value chain? How can technical and commercial efficiency be improved in power distribution?
The top three critical issues present in the distribution network are reliability of the network; quality of voltage supplied to the customers; and value proposition of commodity.
Using equipment having high efficiency can optimize the reactive energy flow and the harmonic current flow in the network hence increasing the technical efficiency. Integrating many energy sources such as PV inverters, micro wind stations, AI-based EV charging points at domestic/micro commercial premises with the help of AI technology, is one of the foremost ways to enhance commercial efficiency.
Please tell us in brief about your operations in UAE and Canada. In a general sense, how does the market for power quality in developed countries differ from that in India?
With operations in UAE and Canada, we have expanded business verticals in trainings, PQ, power system and AI/ ML- IoT.
Harmonizer UAE has appointed CENS partners for business. With only a few leaps Harmonizer UAE is having steep growth in terms of customer base and revenue. Currently, Harmonizer Canada is under product approval stage with CSA.
Power quality is a global challenge faced by industries in all the countries be it developed or currently developing. This challenge of PQ is required to be addressed in markets of almost all the countries.
How has Harmonizer’s journey in India been so far; how do the coming years look to you given that issues like power quality, network reliability, demand side management are gaining traction?
Harmonizer had a great journey in terms of experiencing the Indian markets and the PQ issues faced by the industries. During the lockdown, the major focus was on providing digital sessions about PQ, IoT/AI to the customer to create a base and enhance acceptability for the brand in the market. Team Harmonizer focused on R&D filing patents for industry/building application.
Coming years will be challenging for the industries in terms of disruptive power quality and opting for right partner for energy optimization which is the need of the hour and will affect the reliability, productivity and sustainability of the business.
With limited expertise available in the market, Harmonizer is confident of using technology such as data science and AI to provide reliable solutions for PQ, demand site management etc in the form of world-class products to its customers.
