Essel Infraprojects Ltd has bagged three waste-to-energy (WtE) projects in the cities of Kadapa, Anantpur and T.P Gudem of Andhra Pradesh. EIL has awarded the contract to Hitachi Zosen India Pvt Ltd for delivery of the projects.
Each of the plants comprises one R-Grate type waste combustor and flue gas treatment systems with a processing capacity of 330 tonnes per day and a power output of approximately 6000 kW. It is expected that total capacity of four WTE plants will reach 0.57 million tonnes per year by 2019, a release from Essel Infraprojects said.
The contract has been executed between Hitachi Zosen India (HZI) and special purpose companies owned and operated by Essel Infraprojects Ltd. HZI is a group company of Hitachi Zosen Corporation, which is known to be a leading WTE plants engineering company.

EIL and Hitachi Zosen India Pvt Ltd have earlier worked together in delivering a 11.5-mw waste to energy plant in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. This plant, which is designed to process 600 tonnes of municipal solid waste, was commissioned in May 2016.
