After completing substantial testing of several HTLS Conductors and two ACCC trial lines, including an 80kV DC line at Jeju in 2013 and a 154 kV river crossing at Gochang in 2017, KEPCO completed their first commercial ACCC Installation earlier this month, a release from CTC Global, the owner and supplier of ACCC conductor technology, said.
The 13-km Sindeogeun – WonHueng 154kV double circuit reconductor project utilized 421.4 sqmm Brussels-size ACCC conductor manufactured by Taihan to replace 330 sqmm ACSR conductor. The reconductor project was undertaken to improve grid efficiency, capacity and reliability.
Vietnam project: In an independent development, CTC Global also said that with the support of Power Construction Company One, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) completed their 25-km, 110kV Phu Lam to Long An, ACCC Reconductor project. EVN selected Glasgow-size ACCC conductor supplied by KMI to replace 240/32 ACSR conductor. Hardware for the project was supplied by PLP.
Mr. Tung, Mr. Lam and Mr. Tiep of Vietnam Technique Development Company (VTD) provided ACCC Training and Support. Vietnam Electricity is the largest power company in Vietnam. Vietnam Electricity was established by the government of Vietnam as a state-owned company in 1994, and has operated officially as a one-member limited liability company since 2010. To date, EVN has completed more than 20 ACCC Conductor upgrade projects in Vietnam, CTC Global said.
