GE T&D India: Order bookings up 68 per cent in Q1 of FY24

 

GE T&D India reported a 68 per cent year-on-year growth in its order inflow during Q1 (April to June) of FY24.

In a media release, GE T&D India said that it booked new orders worth Rs.1,006.60 crore in Q1 of FY24, up 67.9 per cent from the comparable Rs.599.50 crore  in the same period of FY23.

The domestic market accounted for 78 per cent of the Q1FY24 order inflow with exports having a smaller share of 22 per cent.

 

Strong first quarter

Commenting on the performance, Sandeep Zanzaria, Managing Director & CEO of GE T&D India Ltd, said, “Our team delivered a strong first quarter, with significant order growth and margin improvement. This was driven by our focus on execution and our ability to capture opportunities in the growing Indian power market. The macro-economic conditions in India are favourable for the power sector, with strong demand growth and government support for investment in new infrastructure. We remain committed to safe and lean operations while consistently delivering high quality products and services to our valued customers.”

 

Order backlog

As of June 30, 2023, the outstanding order book position of GE T&D India stood at Rs.3,940.90 crore. Of this, private utilities had the highest share of 72 per cent, followed by Central utilities with 17 per cent and state utilities with 11 per cent.

Featured photograph relates to the expansion of 220/66kV GIS, along with 2x63MVA transformers, for Himachal Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (HPPTCL) at Gumma. The project, commissioned by GE T&D India in Q1 of FY24, entailed construction of two 220kV GIS bays and one 66kV GIS bay at the HPPTCL Gumma substation. The GIS bays will be used to connect the 220kV transmission line from the Wangtoo hydropower project to the 66kV distribution network in the Gumma area.
