GE T&D India witnessed a new order inflow of over Rs.2,000 crore in the first half (H1: April to September) of FY24, which was nearly double of that in the same period of FY23.
In an investor presentation, GE T&D India said that its order inflow in H1 of FY24 stood at Rs.2,088.2 crore that was 92 per cent higher than the comparable level of Rs.1,085.4 crore in H1 of FY23.
In Q2 (July to September) of FY24, new order inflow stood at Rs.1,081.6 crore, more than double the Rs.486 crore worth of orders booked in Q2 of FY23.
Key order bookings in Q2 of FY24 included:
- Package for supply of 110 MVAR 765kV reactors and 125 MVAR 400kV reactors from Sterlite Power
- Construction of 765/400kV GIS substation at Narendra and 765kV bay extension at Pune including civil works from Adani Energy Solutions
- Export order for supply of 225kV GIS to Senegal
- Package order of 400kV/220kV 3-phase auto transformer from an EPC Customer
- Product package order of 400kV switchyard equipment comprising of 400/220kV power transformers, shunt reactors, circuit breakers and instrument transformers from an EPC Customer
- Contract for upgradation of existing 66/33kV Tuensang substation to 132kV level GIS substation from PGCIL
- 220kV GIS order from Tata Motors
- Turnkey contract for 400kV substation at Sholapur, Maharashtra from Renew Power
Order backlog
As of September 30, 2023, GE T&D India’s order backlog stood at Rs.4.337.7 crore that was dominated by private utilities to the extent of 75 per cent. Another 15 per cent was accounted for by Central utilities and PSUs, with the remaining 10 per cent coming from state government utilities.
Surge in order book

Projects Commissioned
Some of the key projects commissioned by GE T&D India during Q2 of FY24 include:
- Commissioning of 765kV Chilakaluripeta and Warangal air-insulated substations including 24 reactors and seven 765kV, 500 MVA interconnected transformers, for Adani Group
- Commissioning of 220kV GIS substation at Sahupuri for Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission
- Corporation Ltd
- Commissioning of 20 bays of 110kV GIS substations at Shornur for Kerala State Electricity Board
