GE Vernova T&D India Ltd has won orders valued at around Rs.500 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for the supply of transformers and reactors.
In a regulatory filing, GE Vernova T&D India said that it has won three orders, together valued at around Rs.500 crore, for supply and installation of transformers and reactors under “bulk procurement”.
The orders, entailing 765kV-class transformers and reactors of various capacities (MVA) are to be executed within 36 months, the filing said.
As reported by T&D India in its exclusive story dated February 7, 2025, R.K. Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director, PGCIL, had indicated that to obviate delays in sourcing high-voltage equipment, PGCIL was going in for bulk procurement of standardized equipment. PGCIL is expected to commission projects worth around Rs.18,000 crore in FY25. To this effect, aggressive project implementation is expected to take place in February and March this year.
GE Vernova T&D India’s order inflow in the first three quarters (April to December) of FY25 stood at Rs.7,787 crore, up nearly 75 per cent from Rs.4,456 crore in the same period of FY24.
