Godrej & Boyce announced that its SBU Godrej Electricals & Electronics (E&E) aims to strengthen India’s infrastructure development vision through the execution of substantial projects by its MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Public health engineering) line of business.

Godrej & Boyce (E&E) was recently awarded their largest data center project for MEP works in South India by a multinational conglomerate.

With the Indian government declaring the whole ecosystem of 5G networks and the finance minister providing infrastructure status to the data center industry in the Union Budget, the rapid shift to a digital economy is intensifying, a release from G&B said.

With urbanization and digitization being a mega trend driving India’s economic growth, Godrej E&E’s line of Business, MEP has bagged key commercial, infrastructure, data center and e-commerce projects worth over Rs.600 crore being under execution. This is a testament to the business’ expertise in the area. The business looks forward to continuing to provide services to this rapidly expanding data centre segment, which is forecast to double up in the next 2-3 years.

The PM Gati Shakti plan has given a new direction to the development of infrastructure in India by encouraging public-private partnerships in modern infrastructure creation from planning to the development and utilisation stage. Godrej Electricals and Electronics has contributed to this vision of the government by collaborating on large-scale public infrastructure projects including the international airport and metro rail projects across the country.

Sustainable technology

In order to improve value propositions, Godrej Electricals and Electronics’ MEP vertical encourages its clients to use low carbon intensive technology in their projects. For energy-efficient HVAC applications, the business recommends energy-efficient pumps, displacement ventilation, and integrated building management systems to ensure sustainable infrastructure empowerment in India. The majority of MEP’s executed projects have received certification for green and sustainable built environments from various authorities, including IGBC, LEED, GRIHA, and WELL.
