Hartek Solar, the rooftop solar division of Hartek Group, has bagged a 1.8-mw rooftop project from FMCG player Bikaji, in Rajasthan.
The rooftop solar plant will be put up at Bikaji’s Head Office in Bichhwal Industrial Area at Bikaner in Rajasthan. The plant, based on the latest Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell (PERC) technology with monocrystalline solar panels, will also be equipped with storage facility. The rooftop installation will generate 2.822 million kwh of clean electricity annually, offsetting 57,661 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Hartek Solar, which will execute the project right from installation of solar panels and inverters to supply, design, engineering and commissioning, has bagged this significant project by riding on its expertise in the rooftop solar domain and its track record of keeping up high project execution standards, a release from Hartek Group said.
With the industrial and commercial categories accounting for 70 per cent of India’s total installed rooftop solar capacity, Hartek Solar has set a target of executing 10-MW rooftop projects in the industrial domain by the end of the current financial year.
According to Simarpreet Singh, Director & CEO, Hartek Solar, “The PERC technology we are using in this rooftop solar plant will help achieve higher energy conversion efficiency by adding a dielectric passivation layer on the rear of the cell. This layer will enhance efficiency by reducing electron recombination and increasing solar cells’ ability to capture light.”
Expressing Bikaji’s commitment to contribute to the clean energy ecosystem, Bikaji Managing Director Deepak Agarwal said, “Sustainable energy is the key to sustainable development. Our decision to go for rooftop solar to meet our electricity requirements is a step in this direction. Besides reducing our electricity bills, the solar plant at our Bikaner facility reinforces our commitment towards building a sustainable future. We are very glad that we chose Hartek Solar for installing this project. We have taken a small but significant step towards reducing the global carbon footprint.”
Hartek Solar has emerged as one of India’s leading rooftop solar installers with an installed capacity of more than 40 mw across the industrial, commercial and residential categories in just four years of its inception.
