Havells India reported a revenue growth of nearly 23 per from its cables business during the second quarter (Q2: July to September) of FY25.
In a release, Havells India said that revenue from the cables business touched Rs.1,805 crore in Q2FY25, up 22.8 per cent from Rs.1,470 crore in the same quarter of FY24.
Commenting on the financial performance Anil Rai Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, Havells India Ltd, said, “Q2 delivered healthy growth across categories as we witnessed improvement in consumer demand trends and pickup for the festive season. However, the margins were impacted due to high volatility in the commodity prices. With new capacity addition in cables, we continue to be excited about the demand going forward.”
Havells India, it may be mentioned, had announced plans of expanding capacity at its cable plant at Alwar in Rajasthan. With a capital outlay of Rs.375 crore and an envisaged completion timeframe of March 2026, the plant’s capacity is being expanded to 41.20 lakh km per year from 32.90 lakh km per year.
An investor presentation by Havells India observed that strong volume growth in the cables business in Q2FY25 was predominantly driven by wires, which was also aided by spillover from Q1FY25 de-stocking.
