Havells India has announced a capacity expansion plan at its cable manufacturing facility in Alwar, Rajasthan.
In a brief stock exchange filing, Havells India said that it is planning to expand cable manufacturing capacity at its Alwar plant from the existing 32.90 lakh km per year to 41.20 lakh km per year.
This capacity expansion, of around 25 per cent in physical terms, is being carried out to cater to increased demand.
With an estimated outlay of Rs.375 crore, this expansion project is scheduled to complete in phases by March 2026, the company said, adding that project financing will be done through internal accruals.
The Alwar plant currently operates at a capacity utilization rate of 70 per cent, the filing added.
According to information available on the official website of Havells India, the Alwar plant was set up in 1996. Spread over an area of around 4.05 lakh sqm, the Alwar cable plant is said to be one of the largest single-location cable plants in the country. The Alwar facility caters to both industrial and domestic cables.
