The electrification business of ABB India has reported a healthy growth in order inflows during the April-June quarter of 2022.
In an investor presentation, ABB India said that the order inflows in the company’s electrification business stood at Rs.967 crore during the April-June quarter of 2022. This was 5 per cent higher than the Rs.925 crore worth of orders received in the immediately preceding quarter (January to March).
Compared with the order inflows in the April-June quarter of 2021, which stood at Rs.575 crore, the growth was around 68 per cent.
The electrification business of ABB India offers a wide-ranging portfolio of products, digital solutions and services. Right from substation to socket, the electrification business enables safe, smart and sustainable electrification.
ABB India’s overall operations can be grouped across four major verticals – electrification, process automation, motion (mechanical power transmission solutions) and robotics & discrete automation.

The order inflow of ABB India, across all its verticals, stood at Rs.2,767 crore in the April-June quarter of 2022, as against Rs.1,689 crore in the same quarter of 2021. During the first half of 2022 (January to June), the consolidated order inflow was Rs.5,066 crore, evincing a year-on-year growth of 44 per cent.
As of June 30, 2022, the outstanding order book of ABB India (across all businesses) was Rs.5,995 crore.
Note: ABB India’s accounting year runs from 1 January to 31 December. The April-June quarter therefore represents the second quarter of the company’s accounting year.
