The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) has launched a one of kind “Quality Campaign” for the electrical and allied electronics industry in Lucknow, aimed at driving quality, safety and reliability in the equipment manufacturing.
The focus of IEEMA’s quality initiative is to boost India’s electrical equipment exports which is currently pegged at $12 billion. With uncertain geopolitical situation and the world looking at manufacturing alternatives to China in the light of China +1 policy, India is positioned well to emerge as the key manufacturing destination. The focus is also on boosting the “Make in India” initiative and addressing the minimum local content directives.
This initiative includes aligning and working closely with government agencies on standards related to quality and the introduction of specialized skilling programs designed to meet the changing needs of the industry and equip them with knowledge of new technologies like AI/ IoT and digital energy. This initiative highlights IEEMA’s commitment to drive and create benchmarks for quality of electrical equipment and components produced, reinforcing the government’s vision of a self-reliant India.
IEEMA supports UP government’s vision for growth and acknowledges the substantial investment of Rs.75,000 crore in the energy sector. With projections that electricity demand in the state could reach 53,000 MW by 2028, UP power sector will drive the next wave of technological advancements and growth for the power sector.
Focus on quality
Speaking at the preview of ELECRAMA 2025, Sunil Singhvi, President of IEEMA, emphasized the significance of quality in today’s competitive landscape, stating, “The consumer of today demands quality products that meet international standards. Our quality campaign aims to prioritize this demand and ensure that our manufacturers not only meet local needs but also strengthen their position in the global market through increased exports. By focusing on quality, we can contribute to the vision of Make in India. In line with this, quality is also one of the key focus areas of ELECRAMA 2025.”
ELECRAMA will be hosted for the fourth time in Uttar Pradesh at the Indian Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The 16th edition of ELECRAMA, the World’s Largest Electrical show, is set to surpass all expectations, with more than 1,100 exhibitors, 400,000 visitors, over 15,000 B2B meetings, 600+ hosted buyers from 80 countries, and 10+ country pavilions. This edition promises to be the biggest, most impressive, and most dynamic show yet.
UP holds important position
Hamza Arsiwala, Immediate Past President, IEEMA, emphasized the importance of Uttar Pradesh’s position in India’s electrical ecosystem. “Uttar Pradesh has a vast base of large companies and a significant number of SMEs, which manufacture products such as transformers, cables, meters, and power electronics. These industries are critical in powering India’s ambitious infrastructure growth. We see ELECRAMA as huge platform for fostering innovation and promoting knowledge exchange for the advancement of the region”
Skilling is vital
Charu Mathur, Director General, IEEMA, stated, “Skilling is vital for understanding new technologies. As we introduce these capacity-building programs, we aim to create a workforce that is not only adept at utilizing new technologies but also prepared to tackle the challenges of modernization in the power sector. Our collaboration with local authorities underscores our commitment to strengthening the state’s infrastructure and ensuring sustainable growth.”
Fostering innovation
At the roadshow, IEEMA emphasized its commitment to fostering innovation and exploring opportunities within the electrical and allied electronics sectors. The association has established an ambitious membership goal aimed at enhancing participation across diverse industries. Scheduled for February 22nd to 26th in Greater Noida, ELECRAMA 2025, recognized as the World’s Largest Electrical Show, is expected to be a landmark event for the electrical and allied electronics industry.
The Lucknow preview has set an exciting tone for ELECRAMA 2025, promising a lineup of engaging sessions and exhibitions that will showcase the latest advancements in electrical and electronics technology.
