IEEMA organizes maiden edition of “Maharashtra Power Conclave”

The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) hosted the maiden Maharashtra Power Conclave, in Mumbai, on July 5, 2024.

This exclusive event brought together key stakeholders, policymakers, and industry leaders to chart a course towards sustainable energy solutions in Maharashtra.

Speaking at the inauguration, Vishwas Pathak, Director, Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) Holding highlighted that, “Maharashtra is on a trajectory to achieve a $1 trillion economy, and we are making strides towards this goal. Our government’s vision like the CM Solar Feeder Agri Scheme and RDSS are game changers, driving growth and transformation in Maharashtra.”

 

Investment in power T&D

Many senior dignitaries graced the occasion and talked about the power sector growth in Maharashtra. Sanjay Banga, President T&D, Tata Power shared, “Technology drives transparency, accountability, and efficient delivery. We are leveraging digitisation and data to optimize subsidy allocation and investing Rs. 5 lakh crore in generation and transmission over the next five years.”

 

Digitalization

Dr Sanjeev Kumar, IAS, CMD, Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL), stated that “The focus is on digitalisation, renewable energy and sustainable energy. These are some very important pillars of the power sector today. Technology is improving efficiencies, reducing cost and improving the lives of millions”.

 

Cornerstone of state’s success

Hamza Arsiwala, President, IEEMA stated that “The power sector of Maharashtra has been a cornerstone of our state’s economic success, driving industrialisation and innovation. Maharashtra’s commitment to clean energy and digital advancement underscores our leadership in sustainable development and economic growth.”

 

Emerging technologies

The Maharashtra Power Conclave convened to explore smart emerging technologies in Maharashtra’s power sector. The event aimed to delve into opportunities and challenges in energy transition initiatives. Key topics of discussion include smart energy pathways, green energy initiatives, EV charging infrastructure, grid transmission and distribution, and metering. The Conclave concluded with a commitment to actionable outcomes aimed at advancing Maharashtra’s position as a leader in the electrical industry.

Attendees had the opportunity to network and forge valuable partnerships aimed at driving collaborative efforts towards a resilient and sustainable power ecosystem. The conclave underscored IEEMA’s commitment to supporting the growth of the electrical industry and promoting excellence in innovation and manufacturing.
