Inverted Energy Pvt Ltd has announced the inauguration of its new lithium battery manufacturing plant in Okhla Industrial Area, Delhi.
Currently at 100 MWh per year, the manufacturing capacity of the plant is expected to increase many times over in the coming months, a release from Inverted Energy said.
The plant will be equipped with:
- State of the art machines for high precision welding
- Machines for superior grading and sorting
- Testing infrastructure
This will facilitate their objective of delivering quality products in the existing market space after proper testing and satisfying safety standards, the release noted.
Focused on electric vehicles (two- and three-wheelers), Home storage and solar batteries used for commercial, industrial and utility services, this plant will enable the company to meet the increasing marked demand, both in terms of quantity and product quality.
“Various states in India are coming up with new plans related to electric vehicles as per sources. Telangana launched its electric vehicle policy exempting road tax for first 2 lakh electric vehicles. This being said, we want to drive the change towards lithium-ion batteries which are more reliable, cost-effective, durable and made in India”, said Rahul Raj, Co-founder, Inverted.
Today Inverted is a team of engineers, scientists and energy researchers dedicated to disrupting the energy storage sector. With this capacity addition, it has extended its journey towards Atma-Nirbhar-Bharat and to create a flexible, cost-effective and optimized market space aiming to reduce dependency on China, the release said.
“During the lockdown, we realized the drawback of depending on the foreign markets & have worked towards building capabilities, strengthening the team, and working harder resulting in this achievement”, added Rahul Raj.
Inverted Energy was founded in the year 2017 by a group of IIT engineers with the ambition of making India-energy sector self-reliant. In just three years this ambition shaped Inverted to become India’s second-largest Lithium battery company, the release added.
