Jakson Group to expand solar module capacity, ties up with Jinchen Corp

 

Jakson Group has signed an agreement with Jinchen Corp, a China-based turnkey supplier of advanced solar module manufacturing equipment and technology.  The association is a step forward in Jakson Group’s target to expand its solar PV manufacturing capacities further in India by up to 3 GW annually.

This overall manufacturing capability of 3 GW will be achieved in a phased-wise manner over the next few years, with this upcoming phase expected to be completed with the installation of an additional 600 MW towards mid-2023, in collaboration with Jinchen Corp.

 

The agreement with Jinchen Corp will augment Jakson Group’s existing 500-mw facility at Greater Noida and will take the total module manufacturing capacity to 1.1 GW. This new fully-automated line will be equipped to produce latest P-type, N-type and G-12 modules in both mono-facial and bi-facial variants.

Speaking on the partnership, Bharat Gupta, Head – Solar (International Business), Jakson Group said “We are glad to have Jinchen Corp onboard with us and take it as a significant step in our efforts to help the world transition to clean energy. With this partnership, we envisage getting closer to our near-term goal of achieving a solar PV manufacturing capacity of 3 GW by FY26. “

According to Vikas Singh, General Manager – Indian Operations, Jinchen Corp, “Jakson Group has a clear vision for developing the global solar power industry. Our association with them will provide us with an opportunity to showcase our advanced solar module manufacturing technology to the world.
