Buoyed by improved prospects, Jyoti Structures Ltd has proposed to soon restart the second tower manufacturing unit at its Nashik plant in Maharashtra.
In a stock exchange notification, Jyoti Structures Ltd said that in light of the current order book of close to Rs.2,000 crore, and the improved business outlook, the company is restarting the second unit at its Nashik tower manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
The second unit is expected to start operations by the end of March 2025. Towards this, Jyoti Structures has ordered a new state-of-the-art galvanizing plant and three CNC fabrication machines. This will be in addition to refurbishing the seven CNC fabrication machines the company already has.
It may be mentioned that in January 2025, Jyoti Structures reported the winning of a package valued at Rs.741.28 crore that is to be implemented in a period of 42 months. Understood to be the highest-value EPC contract for Jyoti Structures Ltd in recent years, the contract, placed by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), represents “Package 01” of the ±800kV HVDC bipole line (Hexa Lapwing) with dedicated metallic return, between the Khavda Pooling Station-2 (KPS) and Nagpur HVDC terminals.
Over 1 lakh tonnes of annual capacity
Jyoti Structures Ltd, in August 2022, restarted operations at the first unit of the Nashik transmission tower manufacturing plant. This unit, with capacity of 36,000 tonnes per year, is currently running at optimal level. The second unit, discussed above, will add 33,000 tonnes of annual tower manufacturing capacity. Besides, the company has also planned to restart operations at the 40,000-tpa Raipur tower plant in Chhattisgarh. The timing of resuming operations at this plant would depend on the order inflow, a senior company official told T&D India.
When all the three plants resume their full operations, the annual tower manufacturing capacity of Jyoti Structures is projected to be 109,000 tonnes.
