KEC International closed the financial year ending March 31, 2024 (FY24) with order inflow exceeding Rs.18,000 crore with power T&D accounting for over half.
In an investor presentation, KEC International Ltd said that its order inflow during FY24 stood at Rs.18,102 crore with the power T&D business accounting for 56 per cent. The civil business had a 23 per cent share in the FY24 order inflow. The remaining was distributed over other segments like railways, oil & gas, cables, etc.
Domestic orders accounted for 70 per cent of KEC’s order inflow in FY24.
As of March 31, 2024, the company’s outstanding order book was Rs.29,644 crore with international orders accounting for around 25 per cent. Of the outstanding order book, the power T&D sector had a share of 46 per cent. As of given date, KEC held L1 position with respect to orders aggregating over Rs.7,000 crore.
As of around May 7, 2024, KEC ‘s order book (including L1 positions) was around Rs.37,000 crore with power T&D accounting for around Rs.21,000 crore. KEC has estimated its tender pipeline (upcoming and those under evaluation) of over Rs.1,30,000 crore.
Challenging project
One of KEC’s most challenging project in the power T&D sector, commissioned during FY24, was the Warora Kurnool transmission project spanning 878 ckm and traversing three states – Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Strong revenue growth
According to Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International Ltd, “We have delivered a good performance for the year with highest ever Revenues, substantial growth in Profitability, key order wins and significant improvement in working capital. The strong Revenue growth has been delivered by stellar performances in Transmission and Distribution (T&D) and Civil businesses. Our EBITDA margins have shown consistent improvement, with Q4FY24 clocking a commendable increase of 120 basis points to reach 6.3 per cent, up from 5.1 per cent in the same quarter of the previous year. The bottom line has also seen remarkable growth, with both PBT and PAT doubling over the previous year. With a formidable and diversified order book & L1 of around Rs.37,000 crore combined with a substantial tender pipeline, we are well positioned to deliver sustained growth in the forthcoming quarters.”
