KEC International has won its first order for building an HVDC terminal station in India, the Mumbai-headquartered EPC major said in a statement.
This order, placed by an unnamed leading private player is KEC’s first project “in the promising segment of HVDC Terminal Station in India,” the statement read.
This HVDC mandate is part of a series of orders aggregating Rs.1,349 crore that KEC has won across its various business divisions.
Apart from the terminal station order, KEC’s power T&D business had landed mandates for a 400kV overhead transmission line in Kuwait, a 132kV underground cable order in Nepal and order for supply of towers in the USA.
The Civil business has secured orders for building a data centre and for infrastructure works in the hydrocarbon segment in India, whereas the Cables business has won domestic and overseas orders for supply of various types of cables.
These orders have taken KEC International’s cumulative order inflows in FY23 so far to over Rs.13,000 crore.
Commenting on the new order wins, Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International Ltd, said, “We are delighted with the new order wins, especially our maiden order in the growing segment of HVDC Terminal Station in India. KEC is the first EPC company in India to secure an order of this scale in this segment. We have consolidated our leadership position in the Middle East market by re-entering Kuwait. With the cabling order in Nepal, we have expanded our presence in the international cabling solutions segment. With the order for building a Data Centre in NCR, we are now executing Data Centre projects across India. With these orders, our YTD order intake has now surpassed Rs. 13,000 crores, a robust growth of around 20 per cent vis-à-vis last year.”
