Global infrastructure EPC company and part of the RPG Group, KEC International has announced the winning of new orders worth Rs.1,203 crore across its various business verticals.

Through an order for civil works, KEC has debuted into the emerging flue-gas desulphurisation (FGD) space.

In the power transmission and distribution (T&D) business, KEC won orders worth Rs.917 crore for projects in India as well as international locations like Bangladesh, Africa and the Americas.

According to Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International Ltd, “We are pleased with the new order wins in the face of challenging global headwinds. The order wins in Bangladesh along with the earlier order wins in Nepal consolidates our leadership in the SAARC T&D market. We are particularly enthused by the first order in the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) segment which opens up a large opportunity for us in this area.”

The Civil business has landed orders of Rs. 176 crore for industrial and residential projects in India. Significantly, the industrial order relates to civil works for a flue-gas desulphurization (FGD) project. This marks the company’s first order in the FGD space.

Flue-gas desulphurization relates to a set of processes and technologies that remove the obnoxious sulphur dioxide (SO2) from the exhaust flue gases of fossil-fuel based power plants, typically coal-fired ones.

The company’s Cables business has secured orders of Rs. 110 crore for various types of cables/cabling projects.

It may be recalled that in March this year, the Civil business vertical of KEC International had won an order for setting up of a data centre for the defence sector. This was the company’s second order in the newly explored defence sector.
