The railway business of KEC International Ltd has reported the winning of orders valued at Rs.1,769 crore. These include tripling of railway lines, including laying of tracks, civil engineering, electrification, signalling and telecommunication works, in north and east India.

These orders are part of a series of new orders amounting to Rs.2,035 crore that KEC won across its various business verticals.

The power T&D business clinched orders of Rs.161 crore for turnkey construction of 132kV and 220kV Transmission Lines in West Bengal. The cables business has received orders of Rs.63 crore for various types of cables while the solar business Rs.12 crore worth of deals for construction of rooftop and ground-mount PV Systems.

“We are delighted with the new orders received, especially from Railways. The increased capital outlays for capacity creation in Railways announced in the 2018 Union Budget augurs well for the business and we see it as a major growth driver in the coming years. These new orders and a strong L1 pipeline gives us confidence to achieve our growth targets,” noted Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO, KEC International Ltd, in response to the new orders.

The civil business also secured an order of Rs.30 crore for the construction of residential buildings and workshop for a metals & mining company, KEC said in a release.

With these orders, the outstanding order book of KEC International stood at Rs.17,148 crore. During FY18, which is from April 1, 2017 to February 6, 2018, the new order inflow was 11,300 crore, KEC said in a release.
