Kenya Transmission Company Ltd (KETRACO) has prequalified Jyoti Structures Ltd to bid for a transmission line project in that country.
In a stock exchange communication, Jyoti Structures Ltd (JSL) said that it has been prequalified by KETRACO to bid for the turnkey contract relating to the 88-km, 132kV Narok-Bomet transmission line.
KETRACO conducted a pre-qualification process to select EPC companies eligible to bid for above-mentioned project funded by African Development Bank, and JSL has been qualified to bid for the project on the basis of past experiences of similar projects including in Kenya, along with the comprehensive in-house capabilities and resources, the communication said.
“Qualification for this tender marks the re-entry of the company into international markets for turnkey projects,” JSL said.
The techno-commercial bid submission for above-mentioned tender is due on April 25, 2024. This is a priority project for KETRACO, to be completed within 12 months from award to successful bidder.
JSL has executed Transmission Line and Substation projects previously in Kenya, the JSL communication said, adding that globally JSL has so far commissioned over 31,000 ckm of transmission lines up to 765kV, 1,800 bays substations, apart from electrification of over 37,325 villages.
It may be recalled very recently, Jyoti Structures announced the completion of its EPC contract relating to the 765kV Khavda-Bhuj line in Gujarat.
