State utility Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) has commissioned an additional power transformer at the Kukshi substation.
In a release, MPPTCL said that it has energized an additional 160 MVA power transformer at the 220kV substation at Kukshi in Dhar district.
The transformer was commissioned for Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA), on priority basis.
The Divisional Office of NVDA located at Manawar had demanded a 132kV feeder at the Chandankhedi Pumping Station for which NVDA completed the necessary formalities with MPPTCL, the release noted.
Pursuant to this, MPPTCL began actively working on this additional transformer and the same was installed at the Kukshi substation on priority, and subsequently energized.
With this transformer, MPPTCL has completed yet another important project and has enhanced its contribution to the state government’s objective of supplying water through various river projects in the area, the power utility said.

Further, the network of power supply for Dahi Microlift Irrigation System and Alirajpur Microlift Irrigation system is also being prepared. Electricity will be supplied to pumping stations attached to various substations, including the Chandankhedi pumping station, MPPTCL said.
