MPPTCL energizes transformer at Dongrital substation

State power utility Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL or MPTransco) has enhanced the capacity of its Dongrital substation by energizing a new transformer.

In a release, MPPTCL said that it has energized a 50-MVA transformer at the 132kV Dongrital substation in Singrauli district. An old 20-MVA transformer was replaced with a 50-MVA one, the release said. This has taken the overall transformation capacity of the Dongrital substation to 70 MVA.

The enhancement of transformation capacity was done in view of increasing electricity demand from coal mines as well as consumers (agricultural, industrial and domestic) in the Dongrital area.

The new transformer, commissioned at an outlay of Rs.5.76 crore, has strengthened the transmission capacity of Singrauli district particularly benefiting a major industrial consumer Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (APMDCL) that is planning to annually produce 5 million tonnes of coal from the Suliyari coal block in Singrauli district.

Besides, over 30,000 electricity consumers connected to 138 villages, including Langhadol and Khanuankhas, are expected to benefit by way of quality electricity supply and a proper voltage profile.
