The Electrical Division of Hyderabad-headquartered NCC Ltd has reported the winning of orders worth over Rs.8,000 crore during August 2023.
In a stock exchange notification dated September 1, 2023, NCC Ltd said that its Electrical Division won four orders, aggregating Rs.8,398 crore (excluding GST), during August 2023.
The order details are as follows:
The first two orders, valued at Rs.2,822 crore and Rs.2,933 crore, respectively, were placed by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL). These two orders relate to Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP), to be executed on design, build, finance, own, operate and transfer (DBFOOT) basis, under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
The duration of these two orders is 9 years and 3 months (including 7 years of O&M) and will be executed through special purpose vehicles.
The third order, worth Rs.2,324 crore, has been received from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (NBPDCL) and is similar to the first two, in terms of scope and completion period. This order, however, will be executed directly by NCC Ltd.
The fourth order is for Rs.319 crore and has been awarded by Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd (BESCOM). The order, to be executed by NCC Ltd, entails upgrade of distribution automation system (DAS) and has duration of 18 months.
Summary
Of the total order value of Rs.8,398 crore, orders valued at Rs.5,755 crore will form part of the order book of NCC’s subsidiaries (SPVs) while the balance Rs.2,643 crore will be on the standalone order book of NCC Ltd.
Order intake and order book
In FY23 (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023), NCC Ltd reported order inflows of Rs.25,895 crore, out of which the Electrical Division had a share of 20 per cent. As of March 31, 2023, NCC had an order book position of Rs.50,244 crore, of which the Electrical Division accounted for 14 per cent. The Electrical Division of NCC specializes in power T&D contracting works. The other major divisions under which NCC operates include buildings, transportation, water & railways, irrigation and mining.
